Chairs: ,
Speakers: ,

Dr Nicholas Boon

This presentation will review how we currently define and implement evidence-based best practice and will consider

  • the limitations of clinical trials and clinical guidelines
  • the difficulty of applying clinical trial data to real world medicine
  • the difficulty of interpreting trials with composite end-points
  • how we can begin to define which patients have the most or least to gain from specific therapies
  • the trade-off between benefit and harm

Before discussing the prospects of personalised cardiovascular medicine.
