The menopause affects all women if they live long enough and the majority of women will experience symptoms. Although the menopause is not a disease, the health risks associated with low hormone levels such as cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis, diabetes and dementia, are often overlooked.
This presentation will review the current evidence and guidelines regarding the optimal management of the perimenopause and menopause. Myths regarding HRT will be dispelled and practical prescribing tips of body identical HRT, including testosterone, will be explored. Management options for women with early menopause, Premature Ovarian Insufficiency (POI) and also for vaginal dryness will be discussed.
