Does treating diabetes reduce cardiovascular outcomes?


Diabetes and cardiovascular disease are inextricably linked, with most diabetic patient succumbing to cardiovascular events. For years there has been much debate about lack of cardiovascular benefits of most anti-diabetic drugs. Have recent trials dispelled the cynicism of many clinicians? This session will look at diagnosis and management of diabetes, cardiovascular risk and recent study evidence.
