Hannah has had a varied career, which has led her to her current position as an Education Lead with the cardiovascular portfolio for Education for Health whilst also maintained a long term clinical role as a heart failure specialist nurse. She has recently commenced work on a clinical research PhD at Leicester.
She has worked within the fields of diabetes and health visiting and has worked in both cardiology and diabetes research units. She gained her MSc in Health Service Research in 2007. For many years, she worked part time as a lecturer at the University of Nottingham on the graduate entry medical course before joining the team at Education for Health in 2011.
She is the immediate past president for BANCC (British Association for Nursing in Cardiovascular Care) which is an affiliate group of the British Cardiovascular Society, aimed at supporting and representing nurses at a local, national and international level. She represented this organisation at CCNAP (Council on Cardiovascular Nursing and Allied Professional) national societies committee and is involved in developing training videos aimed at European health care professionals.
Hannah’s particular interest is the translation of evidence into change in clinical practice for the benefit of patients and their relatives and carers.
