Jeannie works as an Independent Cardiovascular Specialist Nurse with special interests in Atrial Fibrillation, Stroke, Hypertension, Heart Failure and NHS Health Checks. She is also employed part time by Blackpool CCG as a Clinical Project Manager.
Her Primary Care experience stems back to 1994 and has included many years working as a Practice Nurse and then more recently in Co-ordinator roles for Wyre, North Lancs and Blackpool PCT’s, through which she has supported Primary Care teams in Cardiovascular management and advising on the commissioning of Cardiovascular services.
Since 2009 she has worked as a tutor for the Primary Care Training Centre for whom she teaches on their Stroke and CVD update study days.
She has also recently enjoyed working on various projects involving education and pathway development with the British Heart Foundation, Greater Manchester and Lancashire Strategic Clinical Network and the Midlands and Lancashire Commissioning Support Unit.
Currently she is Co-Clinical Lead for Stroke Prevention across Lancs and South Cumbia and is Clinical Lead for the BHF BP Award Programme being run across the same footprint.
In her spare time (when she has any) she enjoys running, cooking and playing golf
