Biography

Bev is a hands-on NMC-registered nurse with full prescribing qualification. She is the Editor in Chief of Practice Nurse Journal and has extensive teaching experience. She is actively engaged in lifelong learning, editorial, writing and reviewer roles with several journals and is an independent training consultant.

Bev has been an Advanced Nurse Practitioner at Mann Cottage Surgery since 2013, where she specialises in long-term conditions, such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease (including heart failure), AF, hypertension, lipid management, chronic kidney disease, MASLD and asthma & COPD.

In 2020, Bev began her role as Editor in Chief of the Practice Nurse journal and in 2024, she became President Elect of the Primary Care Cardiovascular Society. She has been the Asthma Lead for the Association of Respiratory Nurses since 2019 and an independent training consultant since 2012.

She was the Education lead working with the Open University between October 2004 and December 2019, and has been the Course Lead for Rotherham Respiratory since 2020.
