The promotional 21st Annual Abracadabra Diabetes Nursing Conference series will be taking place in May this year once again in association with the Journal of Diabetes Nursing. Following on from the resounding success of the 2020 virtual Abracadabra conference, the 2021 conference will once again consist of a series of virtual webcasts held on 6, 11 and 14 May.

This session will include separate workstreams for the UK and the ROI
Friday 14 May 2021 – One timeslot only: 1pm–3.30pm
The meeting, entitled “Fast forward: Improved diabetes treatments, technology and teamwork”, celebrates the improvements in the care of people living with diabetes since the discovery of insulin 100 years ago. It will provide information on a range of subjects that are applicable to everyday clinical practice including:
- Diabetic kidney disease: challenges and opportunities – Dr Andrew Frankel
- Too high, too low: the consequences of suboptimal glycaemic control – Dr Kevin Fernando
- Diabetes communication in the 21st century – Dr Dorothy Frizelle
